Don’t wait until the start of school to map out the locations of all your classes. Figure out how many minutes or hours you will need to make it each class to the next and plan accordingly. Make note of the bathrooms and other places you will need to go.
Do not take a test without first preparing all the materials you are going to need. It is much easier to stay calm and in control when you have your calculator and essential notes ready at hand. The professor may not have extra items to lend you, so make sure you have what you need before you leave for class.

Getting the appropriate amount of sleep at the right times is essential. When you are attending school, you may find it easy to stay up for a party and then do homework, but it will catch up to you. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, then your mind will not function the way it should be, which can negatively impact your grades.
Try to fulfill no less than one general requirement class during the initial semester. When there is a class you need in order to graduate, it is best to take it sooner rather than later. In addition, it would be sad to be stuck in freshman classes as a senior four years down the road.

Learn about cooking and cleaning as these services are not provided at college. Be sure that you eat nutritious foods, keep your living quarters clean, and get adequate sleep. Schedule equal time for attending classes, studying, recreation and taking care of yourself. You should never stress yourself out or eat unhealthy, you might end up ill.
Purchase used books. Textbooks are generally very expensive. Tuition is also very expensive, so you’ll want to save money in any way possible. Shop around at online retailers and brick and mortar stores that have used books. Purchasing used is a great way to save money.
Try to develop excellent relationships with all your professors. You can get the most out of your classes if you talk to your professor. Do not hesitate to ask questions, and volunteer to help whenever possible. Creating a relationship with your professor will help you to get ahead in many ways, both during and after college.
